Emsworth fishing vessels laid up at Emsworth
The gaff cutter-rigged oyster dredger Ostrea (1890) is shown here seen from the starboard stern quarter, laid up aground against a quay at Emsworth, its counter stern bearing the name Ostrea, and the initials JDF, as with negative P75750. Its mast has been removed. Beside it lie three clinker-built punts or dinghies, and astern, only the counter and rudder are visible of a boat similar to the Ostrea. Atop the quay behind the Ostrea are a flagpole, a crane, and a brick chimney tower, and beyond, a tin-roofed harbourside building.
