Falmouth, dingheys (sic)
Falmouth, RN sailors in dinghies according to negatives index P.70000-P.79999. Of three gunter-rigged undecked dinghies with small jibs to the left of the image, two are being sailed single-handed and one with crew. To the right a double-ended naval whaler is under sail with jib, standing lug and boomed mizzen. Beyond these small boats are moored motor trading vessels, the freighter to the left bearing the name Trevanion, as can best be deciphered from the 60x80mm negative. Two MVs named Trevanion were built by Lithgow's for the Hain Steamship Co. Ltd, in 1938 and 1944 respectively.
