Tied up to a jetty in Gravesend harbour is a topsail schooner, seen bow-on, with one of three squaresails set. An inshore sailing boat to the left, apparently a bawley, has partly-lowered sails. This boat and the hull and bowsprit of the schooner are partly obscured by damage to the negative.
