Langstone foreshore, Hayling Island, wiuth Royal Oak pub
Shown in the foreground, bow-on, is a sailing barge moored against a low harbour wall, with what may be crab pots fixed to an unidentified superstructure on the port side of her foredeck. Behind and to the right of this barge is another barge, which may have been converted from sail to motor power, with what may be a wheelhouse at its stern. On the left of the harbour wall are two terraced buildings, the nearest of which bears the name Royal Oak and its brewery, Gale & Co., on its gable.
