Glamorgan canal barge, Llandaff

Llandaff, barge on Glamorgan canal, according to the negatives P70000-P7999 list. Hill notebook reference to S1006 not located. The double-ended barge depicted is chained from the bow, foremost in the image, to a canal pool wall. Laden with what may be sand, aggregate or soil, the approx. 40ft barge, evidently intended to be horse-drawn, has fine rather than bluff lines both fore and aft, and its heavily timbered topsides are vertical. A quarter deck extends some 10ft from the bow.
