To the left of the broad quayside at Poole harbour stand warehouses of up to five storeys and other buildings, while on the right, beyond carts with curved panels at the front and back, apparently to support canvas roofs, are moored a variety of square-rigged vessels, topsail schooners and trading ketches. On the right near the camera stands a young man by rails such as would convey wagons carrying goods to and from vessels at the quayside.
