Ramsgate
This image has three inshore fishing boats in the foreground, with further examples aground in the distance in Ramsgate harbour. Nearest to the camera is a clinker-built open boat of ca.15ft with a lugsail mizzen, and spars and what may be a mainsail stowed on board. In the left foreground are two Ramsgate-registered fishing boats, which may be lug-rigged, going by the forward stepping of their masts, from which nets are hanging. They are registered R130 and R128 respectively. In the background among other harbourside buildings stand the Pier Hotel, the Ship Hotel and Stevens's Hotel.
