Some 20 luggers of ca. 25ft are seen afloat in calm water in St. Ives harbour, the majority with mizzen sails hoisted. At least some of these boats have apparently returned from fishing, and those on the right of the image have apparently not yet reached their moorings; one is being propelled with sweeps.
