Eastbourne lugger Star of the East NN66

The Eastbourne lugger Star of the East, regd NN66, is seen bow-on, its flat floors resting on chocks on shingle, with the sea behind. Both fore- and mizzen masts are stepped, and the bowsprit is also rigged. The metal frame of a net projects above the gunwale. On the left on the shingle beach is a hand-operated winch. The Star of the East's hull form is full, with a sharp turn of bilge to flat floors.
