Eastbourne lugger Star of the East

The Eastbourne lugger Star of the East, regd NN66, is seen from the port bow quarter, resting on chocks on shingle, with the sea behind. The view shows the whole hull shape, with flat floors amidships but relatively fine lines at the bow and stern. Both fore- and mizzen masts are stepped, and the bowsprit is also rigged. The metal frames of nets project above the gunwale in the bows and at the stern. The Star of the East is fastened to a windlass chain at the foot of its keel .
