This port side view of the Eastbourne sprat boat Pet shows it beached with beach sheds in the foreground to the right and an array of dormer-windowed houses in the distance. The hull of the boat, ca. 25ft in length, is full and flat-floored amidships, but with fine lines at the bow and a very long, shallow lute stern extending 4-5ft or more from the sternpost, behind which hangs a square-section steel rudder. No propeller is visible, nor is any equipment or rigging.
