The Eastbourne sprat boat William Dorothy, regd NN45, is seen bow-on, beached at Eastbourne in front of buildings, with a winch on the shingle to the right and behind it, two fishermen wearing caps. The boat's registration number is visible either side of the stem and to the port side of the stem head is an iron ring for the bowsprit. The fore- and mizzen masts are stepped.
