The port stern quarter of the Hastings lugger EVG, regd RX152, is seen from ground level, beached at Hastings. It has the concave-curved planked stern of the type, and a propeller to port of the rudder. Its mizzen yard and furled mizzen are fixed to the mizzen mast, from which hang fine-meshed nets. A long bumkin extends aft of the boat's stern. The boat's cllinker-built hull shows substantial tumble-home at the stern. A somewhat smaller clinker-built fishing boat rests on shingle to the EVG's starboard side.
