St Ives motor luggers, originally sailing luggers

Three St Ives luggers are seen moored alongside each other in harbour on mirror-smooth water. The nearest, carvel-built and with starboard bow facing the camera, is regd SS9, and has a doghouse fitted, but still carries a foremast and brailed to it, a lug foresail and its yard. Beyond are two smaller double-ended luggers, one having a doghouse fitted. Neither of these has a visible name or registration number. Both has the gaff mizzen steadying sail typical of motorized luggers.
