St Ives sailing pilchard driver hauled up at St Ives

A pilchard driver, the Delhi, regd SS579, is seen from the port side, moored aground in St Ives harbour at low tide. Mooring lines hang slack over its stern quarters and three rope fenders hang over the port gunwale amidships. A man is sitting on a beam resting at an angle just beyond the Delhi's bow. A ladder leans against the port bow. The Delhi's mizzen mast is, as is typical, raked forward while the foremast is vertical. Smeaton's pier is beyond the Delhi, with three arches intended to allow sand to be washed out of the harbour, prominent in the scene.
