A freestanding, European-style bell tower in Sri Lanka
A black and white portrait photograph showing a freestanding European-style bell tower in Sri Lanka. The tower has two arches, one on the ground floor and one on the first storey, through which trees are visible. A bell can be seen hanging on the first story. Steps leads up on each of the three visible sides of the building and there is a sign (unreadable) to the right of the entrance. The tower is surrounded by palm trees and the roof of another, lower building can be seen in the background. Part of a motorcar (front right wheel, wheel arch, headlamp and bonnet), can be seen in the bottom righthand corner of the photograph. This photograph is jointly captioned ‘COLOMBO’ with other photographs on the same page.
