All have legible or semi-legible advertising messages on them, including 'SYMPATHETIC UNDERTAKER', 'CORPSE WASHED & DRESSED', 'FEAR GOD', 'READY MADE COFFINS', 'DO NOT LIVE LIKE A FOOL' and 'THAT'S BUNGIE'. The roof of the building and the tops of trees behind it are also visible. Original caption (in white beneath the photograph): 'The sympathetic Undertaker'. The page, inclding three other photographs, is also captioned 'FREETOWN. SIERRA LEONE / JAN 28th - FEB 19th 1933'.
