The Peace Pageant river procession under the Albert Bridge (?) , 4 August 1919
Oil painting, signed lower right, forming one of a group (BHC0649-BHC0652) previously misidentified as the Coronation procession of June 1911. The white vessel leading the Pageant is Queen Mary's shallop (1689) carrying George V and Queen Mary. This event was the last voyage of the shallop, which was subsequently stored at Windsor, offered to the proposed National Maritime Museum by George V in 1930 and eventually came to Greenwich for restoration and display in 1953. See BHC0649 for further information on the group.
