The passenger/cargo liner City of Chester (1944) presumably under way, possibly in the Firth of Clyde.

A starboard near broadside view, taken from just ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner City of Chester (1944) presumably under way, possibly in the Firth of Clyde, bound in. She is in Ellerman livery but is still carrying Chipchase liferafts and the wartime radar lantern. Her funnel has been raised and the signal mast on her bridge has ben replaced by topmasts on her fore and main masts. A captioned copy negative of a heavily retouched photographic print in which the bow, the anchor, the bow wave and the wash have been enhanced.
