River Walk
This coloured etching depicts a former industrial site on the riverside at East Greenwich, although the precise location has not yet been identified. Between a brick wall and a corrugated iron fence, a narrow footpath leads to the River Thames. A building with a large chimney is visible in the distance over the water. The title (‘River walk’), edition number (‘23/50’) and artist’s signature (‘Elizabeth Morris’) are inscribed beneath the image. Elizabeth Morris is a printmaker and founding member of Greenwich Printmakers. This print is a valuable record of a part of the riverside that no longer exists, having been transformed in the redevelopment of Greenwich Peninsula.
