'Trawlers in Scapa Flow'
Inscribed, as title, and signed by the artist, lower left. This fully finished watercolour shows four trawlers at sunset, with steadying sails set. The centre vessel is possibly a screw tug. They are probably minesweeping or patrol trawlers but there is no sign of any offensive or defensive armament on them, so they may be local fishing vessels.
