Cruiser squadrons in the Forth
Two studies on a single sheet. The top drawing shows light cruisers of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Light Cruiser Squadrons anchored, possibly in the Forth, in 1917-18. The nearer three-funnelled ships are of the 'Arethusa' and 'Caroline' classes. The distant four-funnelled ships are of the 'Chatham' and 'Birmingham' classes. The lower drawing with the Forth Bridge as background has, on the left, a battlecruiser of the 'Indefatigable' class and if the date is post-Jutland, as it appears, it has to be 'New Zealand' or 'Australia'.
