HMS 'Hood' at Portsmouth
This shows the battlecruiser 'Hood' (1918) alongside the South Railway Jetty in Portsmouth Harbour with the aircraft carrier 'Furious' (1916) astern of her at Pitch House Jetty. Two battleships are at the North Railway and Middle Slip jetties. The date is 1925 to 1929 but probably before 1928 when George V made a visit to mark the completed restoration of HMS 'Victory' (1765). That is shown here in the no. 2 Dry Dock (as from 1922) but it does not yet have its full rig.
