The 'Victory' (1765) is in her usual berth and apart from the port admiral's St George flag at its maintop it has an Amercan flag in the rigging whiile the other vessels bear them at half mast, the main ship departing at right centre being the armoured cruiser 'Natal' (1905). This is leaving for New York carrying home the body of the U.S. Ambassador to Great Britain, Whitelaw Reid, for burial in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. He had died in office in London on 15 December 1912, aged 75. 'Victory' is shown firing a final salute to him as the ship sails.
