Egyptian men around a hedge archway at Alexandria Zoological Garden

A black and white landscape photograph of Egyptian men standing around an archway sculpted from a hedge. Two of the men stand in the foreground, in front of the archway. Each man wears a fez and a robe that reaches down to his ankles. The one towards the right to the image, in a darker robe, is facing to the left of the image and the one towards the left of the image, in a white or light-coloured robe, is facing the camera. On either side of the arch is an ornamental tree that is shorter than the arch, each with a stick securing its trunk. Through the arch can be seen two other men. One of these is standing near the centre of the image and is looking at the camera, his left shoulder facing it. He is wearing a fez and a western suit and is holding a walking cane in his right hand. The other man, also wearing a western suit, is mostly obscured by the hedge. Behind these men is cage or enclosure with a pointed roof, containing birds. The bordscan be seen on the ground and on perches. More foliage surrounds the cage or enclosure and is also visible in the background. Original caption (typed, beneath): '(No. 88) Alexandria - The entrance to Zoological at Nouzha'
