A group of sailors, including one on crutches and one in a wheelchair, at an event

A black and white photograph showing a group of sailors, including two with missing limbs, at some sort of event ashore. There are eight sailors in a rough line. Most, or all, are wearing uniform. The four towards the left of the image are smiling and may be talking together. This includes one man, fourth from the left of the image, with underam crutches. His left leg is missing and that trouser leg appears to have been fastened up. All are standing excepet for one man, to the right of the image, who is in a wheelchair. He is wearing an overcoat that covers most of us clothes, except for the collar of a shirt and a tie visible beneath. The remaining three are stood behind the man in the wheelchair. All the men except the man in the wheelchair are wearing hats and the cap tallies on several are visible, including one reading '[HM]S AMETHYST'. Another man, not in naval uniform and possibly a reporter, can be seen on the far right of the image stooping forwards and writing in a notebook, possibly listening to the man in the wheelchair. There is another man behind him, also facing the sailors and holding paper. An empty chair is visible in the foreground on the left of the image. Other figures can be seen behind the group in the foreground, including two women. A row of figures, with some form of sign to their right, can be seen in the background, possibly stood higher up on a stand or stage.
