'Battle Cruiser "Repulse"'
Signed and inscribed by the artist 'HM Battle-Cruiser Repulse', lower left. This drawing was reproduced in Wyllie's co-authored book 'More Sea Fights of the Great War' (1919), f. p. 100. The battlecruiser 'Repulse' was completed in August 1916 and her forefunnel was raised soon after entering service, in about September 1916. Her maintopmast, present here, was removed by the end of that year. She is therefore shown in the period September to December 1916, in port-bow view on moorings, with small craft around her and possibly at Spithead. A dazzle-painted merchant vessel is beyond her to the right.
