Study of an 'Orion'-class battleship, probably HMS 'Monarch', sending off a boat
While a tonally attractive drawing, especially the well-rendered green/grey northern sea, this is a fairly basic and not particularly accurate depiction of an 'Orion'-class battleship. Apart from that vessel (1910) the others of the class were 'Conqueror', 'Monarch' and 'Thunderer' (all 1911 and completed in 1912). This is probably intended to be the 'Monarch', which had two white bands on her fore-funnel and none on the second funnel. The other three ships of the class had white bands on the second funnel.
