The former German battleship 'Baden', listing and under fire as a gunnery target on the Dean Sand, Spithead, 1921
Signed by the artist and inscribed 'Dean Sand/ Target practice on the German battleship Baden', lower right. For the circumstances of this ship's internment and subsequent use as a British gunnery target, 1918-21, see PAF1872. This shows her with a list to starboard and smoking from the bow during one of the target days, when she was anchored off the Dean Sand on the north-east side of Spithead.
