His Majesty's Ship Barham hove down by His Majesty's Ship Shannon at the Island of Curacoa
Bound with PAF2602-PAF2691. The subject here dates to 1829-30, which was when the frigate 'Shannon' was in the Caribbean on her last commission (her log running from 1829 to 1831) before becoming a hulk (see PAF6175) and being broken up in 1859. Other items in this Eagles sketchbook are clearly retrospective (e.g. back to the Napoleonic War) which suggests this may be as well. [PvdM 4/13]
