A Danish steam corvette

An oil sketch showing a Danish steam frigate off the coast. She flies the Danish flag and is shown going under steam with her smoke billowing from the port side. She is in a busy waterway, surrounded by small coastal craft with distinctive red sails. On the far left, is a smaller sailing craft also flying the Danish flag.

This sketch is from about 1880 and one of a pair with ‘Danish brig driven ashore’, BHC1224.
