A Two-decker at Naples
Ship portrait. Oil painting by A. de Simone, showing a Royal Naval two-decker of at least 90 guns making sail southward from the Bay of Naples. Another British two-decker is following, possibly under a Vice-Admiral of the Blue (since apparently flying blue at the fore), with a frigate heading in towards the waterfront. Above this can be seen the convent of St Elmo and Vesuvius is at far right. De Simone was an Italian ship portraitist working mainly at Naples.
