Honorable Sr. Charles Wager Kt

A three-quarter-length portrait to left of Sir Charles Wager (1666–1743) wearing a velvet coat with embroidered buttonholes, a long wig and a sword belt. He holds the hilt of his sword in his left hand and rests his right hand on a baton of command. He stands in front of a cliff overgrown with foliage with a view of his flagship on the right. This impression has been cut down, removing the production details, publication line and part of the title. Lettered beneath the image with what remains of the title: ‘…Honorable Sr. Charles Wager K….’ This portrait was engraved by George White after John Ellis’s oil painting of 1726.
