A three-masted schooner, St Malo
A sketch showing a three-masted schooner broadside to port, alongside and at anchor. The location is noted as 'St Malo' on the reverse. Everett has used colour and form for the main features of the sketch. The loosely painted style indicates that this was a rapid sketch in which the artist has paid attention to the form of the sails. The three masts pierce the sky and attached to them the sails have been arranged as a geometric pattern.
