Fishing boats
Everett’s passion for sailing is clear from many of his oils and watercolours. In this oil painting on paper, the colourful sails of the fishing boats are contrasted with the sombre bulk of the steamboat in the middle ground. Everett was a keen sailor and spent large parts of the year working at sea, first on board of sailing ships, and from the 1930s also on steam ships.
