La Rochelle: sailing vessel leaving the harbour

Oil painting. The craft is probably a fishing vessel, seen sailing out between the Tour de la Chaîne (left) and Tour Saint-Nicolas, with what appears to be the cupola of the Hotel de Ville seen in the distance behind the harbour basin. Everett's point of view is from the outer-harbour quay opposite, with the channel to the sea lying off to the left. [PvdM 5/15]
