Portrait of the 'Liefde'
Portrait of the ‘Liefde’, viewed from the port beam.
An offset rubbed on the back and only lightly touched with pencil. Although a similar offset to this in the Boymans-Van Beuningen Museum, Rotterdam, is inscribed in pencil ‘de Liefde van de Ruijter’, the original drawing would probably not have been made until the ship’s return from the Mediterranean in April 1663.
This is possibly the same ship as PAG6186.
