Portrait of the 'Windsor Castle'
Portrait of the ‘Windsor Castle’; second rate built in 1678, 90 guns, she was wrecked in 1693.
She is viewed from slightly abaft the starboard beam, the head is not shown. Wreathed ports and a castle are over the quarter-gallery.
It is freely drawn much in the manner of the Younger, but without the accurate modeling of the side of the ship one would expect of him. It is approximately dated by the subject and watermark.
