An English ship in the wind

An English ship in the wind. A near starboard bow view of a ship with her three topsails braced sharp up on the port tack but shaking. A barge is on her starboard quarter. Another ship is in the background. Land is visible in the right distance. The jacks of both ships may be striped, signifying that they are Indiamen.

This drawing (like PAG6245) possibly belongs to the series made during the King’s visit to the ‘Tiger’ in August 1681.
