Portrait of an English three-decker
Portrait of an English three-decker. It may be by the Younger, but the various corrections and the laboured drawing of the head are more characteristic of the Elder’s latest work.
It is not rubbed on the back, but may have been based on a weak offset. It would be unusual for a ship of this size to have no entering port on the port side, so that the drawing may be in reverse.
