Rear-Admiral John Willett Payne, 1752-1803 (proof before letters)
Print (proof before letters) from the oil portrait by Hoppner in the Royal Collection: Henry Bone's fine reduction of it in enamel is MNT0012, and the squared reduction drawing used for it among the collection of his preparatory material of that sort in the National Portrait Gallery. The main title after letter reads: John Willitt [sic] Payne Esqr. Rear Admiral of the Red, Vice Admiral of the Coasts of Devonshire & Cornwall, Treasurer of Greenwich Hospital....'. PAG9383 is a lettered impression.
