At the top of this print is a map of the route of the cable from Valentia in Ireland to Trinity Bay in Newfoundland. At the bottom is a cross-section of the 'Great Eastern' showing cable laying equipment, apartments for people, the steam engine, funnels and coal, horses and other animals.
