Design for a Memorial to Nelson
The 1806 date given here is wrong (Stanfield was only 13 in 1806) and the media suggest this may be a Sketching Society drawing, to which Stanfield was elected in 1829: its last meeting, at which he was present, was in February 1851. [PvdM 9/04]
