This action took place on 4-5 Jan 1795 off Guadeloupe. 'La Pique' is shown starboard-broadside on at centre-left, and 'Blanche' in stern view centre-right, with both ships firing at each other and the whole set in a calm sea under the light of a full moon. A third, fore-and-aft rigged, vessel is shown to right of 'Blanche', perhaps the American schooner that Faulknor had commandeered and installed a crew in. PAG8934 is a pendant, depicting the end of the action over three hours later.
