Rear-Admiral John Willett Payne, 1752-1803
Print, of which the main title reads 'John Willitt [sic] Payne Esqr. Rear Admiral of the Red, Vice Admiral of the Coasts of Devonshire & Cornwall, Treasurer of Greenwich Hospital....'. The oil portrait by Hoppner is in the Royal Collection: Henry Bone's fine reduction of it in enamel is MNT0012, and the squared reduction drawing used for it among the collection of his preparatory material of that sort in the National Portrait Gallery.
