The Needles, Isle of Wight
A watercolour wash view taken in light airs from just south of Needles Point, looking roughly north-west along the Hampshire coast. The ship in stern view under topsails and topgallants on the left is probably a frigate. The small craft on the right may be a naval hoy. Signed by artist, lower left. [PvdM 10/08]
