The British Fleet under Rear Admiral Sir Horatio Nelson KB in the Vanguard at anchor in the Bay of Naples, June 17th 1798
One of a pair of gouaches (see PAG9746) which still bear the attribution to Guardi, the son of the Venetian view painter, although they might more accurately be described as Neapolitan School. They may have been painted by a member of the local Fabris family and are typical of commemorative pictures which could be commissioned by visitors to Naples.
