New York and Havre Steam Ship Cos U.S. Mail Steamer Fulton Engraved for the U.S. Nautical Magazine and Naval Journal
Fulton, an American merchant steamer (shown broadside, here) ran between New York and Havre until 1861, when she was chartered by the United States government for Civil War service. She returned to the Atlantic route after the peace. (H. Parker and F.C. Bowen 'Mail and Passenger Steamships of the XIXth Century', pp.117-8).
