Explosion from His Majesty's Ship Boyne after having burnt to the Water's Edge, and grounded on the Horse Shoal near South Sea Castle
The second print of a pair, of which see the first (PAH0753) for further information. This one depicts the final explosion of the 'Boyne' after its anchor cables burnt through and it drifted onto the Horse Shoal off Southsea. Castle, seen on the left. The 'Royal William' (the flagship in the distance) and 'La Sybille' are also identified on the right. [PvdM 8/23]
