H.M. Cutter Harpy (a night chase)
The Harpy is depicted starboard-broadside sailing through turbulent seas in the night. A full moon looms near the horizon on the right, about to be engulfed by the clouds. A schooner lies in the distance to the left of the moon. Hand-coloured.
Since this lithograph dates to Queen Victoria's reign and was engraved by Thomas Goldsmith Dutton, it seems likely to have been the revenue vessel recorded in the Navy List as in service from 1838 to 1853.
